If you're a regular in the store, you've heard me play Triple Burner. A duo of guitarist Harris Newman and drummer Bruce Cawdron, best known for his work with Godspeed You! Black Emperor. This is a fantastic instrumental album which always manages to solicit great comments from customers when I spin it. The problem, of course, is that it's out or print.

That said, we've managed to get a few copies on LP and they should be here shortly. I strongly recommend you pick one up--they'll be very reasonably priced and you're not likely to see one again.

In addition to having the LP for sale very shortly, on Record Store Day we'll be raffling off a copy that's been signed by both Harris and Bruce. They kindly donated the item for our RSD celebration. Thanks, guys!

This of course leads me to some other RSD news... yes, we will be doing our best to stock the standard RSD releases (Peter Gabriel, Pavement, Queens of the Stone Age, John Lennon, Yeasayer, Mountain Goats, Joe Strummer, Sex Pistols, Sharon Jones/Budos Band, and many others)... but we'll also be raffling off items that will be exclusive to Vortex, including:

- the Mississippi Records 3LP set mentioned previously
- a Dinosaur Jr skate deck and autographed poster from Jagjaguwar
- a signed copy of Bon Iver's "For Emma, Forever Ago" also from Jagjaguwar

And hopefully some other items which I'll be mentioning in future posts.

We also have some other RSD news that isn't related to prizes... I'll post details when it's all firmed up.
