Vortex has two mailing lists: The General Mailing List and the Specialty Mailing List. You can subscribe to one or both and their content never overlaps and we will not share your email address with anyone and you can unsubscribe whenever you wish.

The General Mailing list is used very infrequently and is suitable for most folks as we use it to announce news such as:

• Sale Dates
• Holiday Hours/Closings
• Significant Store News or Policy Changes

This list will be used much more frequently and is never concerned with sales, policies, or hours of operation. Instead, it's for the music junkies who shop at the store. We'll use it to announce newly released specialty items that under normal circumstances we will probably NOT be bringing into the store, but which we will bring in if someone special orders. For instance, if one of our labels or distributors tells us about a very limited release from a somewhat obscure artist that is crazy expensive that we would love to stock but can't take a gamble on, we'll announce it thru the specialty list and if a subscriber wants to special order it, we'll arrange to do that for them.

For instance, as I write this, Rhino Handmade is releasing a 2CD Lee Hazlewood collection. We like Lee Hazlewood. We like Rhino Handmade. We don't like the price of $53 (or US$40 plus shipping). As a result, we won't be stocking it as a new item (of course, there's a chance it will come in used)... however, for those of you who like Lee Hazlewood, Rhino Handmade, and the price... we can bring it in just for you and shoot you an email when it arrives.

This is the only thing the Specialty Mailing List will be used for. Whenever something interesting appears from one of the labels or distributors that we buy from, I'll shoot an email to the list about it. This could happen once a week, once a month, twice a day... there's no way of knowing as I get dozens of emails a day with announcements from our sources. I can say it'll probably be at least once per week. I'll try and keep it to that but sometimes we get emails about interesting things that have to be ordered within the next 24 hours in order to ensure we can get them. In those cases, I'll shoot out an email as soon as I hear about the item.

So, if you want the scoop on some of the more bizarre or pricey titles we're able to get new, sign up for this mailing list. You can of course unsubscribe any time using the link in each issue. All genres will be covered.

However, remember that this list will only be used for that so if you also want to be in the loop for sale dates and whatnot, you need to subscribe to the General Mailing List a well.
