Update 5: Sold out of U2, Grinderman, and a few other things. Still have Ting Tings, Dr Dog, Soundgarden and some of the others.

Update 4: We are open 10 - 10 for the sale. Usually, people start lining up 15 minutes or so before we open.

Update 3: Do not call the store and ask for us to hold RSD stuff for you. We will not do it; no exceptions. A list of titles we received is below. Limit of one copy per title per person.

Update 2: Okay, regarding moving the vinyl from the lower bins to the upper... we managed to move half of the pop/rock, which means probably 1/3 of the store's vinyl. Would love to have done more but it was strictly a shelving issue. Couldn't move the jazz or second half of pop/rock because they would have blocked a ton of other product.

Update 1: I had about a million and one calls today about the U2. Yes, we did get some--but not a lot; more than a handful and less than a dozen. I don't get the impression any store got a lot. If you're reading this and the store is open, you're probably too late. However, 50% off all used vinyl's a great reason to come in anyway.

Back to our regularly scheduled post:

I will say right off the bat that for the past month this RSD has seemed extremely disorganized and scattered. Conflicting information kept coming from different sources and as we got closer to the day rumours of delays started happening.

I am expecting a box today with the following titles. However, qty is extremely limited, even for RSD. Some things there's only one of, even though I ordered 10 or 20 times that. Some things we'll have 10 of though we ordered 50. Etc.

Here's what we're getting one or more of:

Hendrix
Grinderman
U2
Dr. Dog
MGMT
Ting Tings
Slayer
Metallica
Soundgarden
Gaslight Anthem
Stanley Turrentine

Rumour has it that the Springsteen and Black Keys are delayed at least a week (for all stores)--though it's impossible for me to confirm. The Sharon Jones and Queens of the Stone Age I'd already announced as being delayed.

I am still waiting for confirmation on Harrison, Dylan, Cee-Lo, Doors, and Iron & Wine. It's possible they'll arrive in the middle of Friday or next week or not at all.

Now for the good news:

- We're still offering 50% off all used vinyl.
- We're still the only store on the planet giving away a Third Man Triple Decker Dead Weather 12". See this post for details.

I'm also gonna bring in some out of print stuff from my personal collection and offer them on Friday only. Though I'm not to blame for the lack of official RSD stuff, hopefully some of you are looking for these limited titles and it'll be a bit of a salve. Most will be one only of each; all are new:
