40% off - Wednesday, December 29, 10am - 8pm
50% off - Thursday, December 30, 10am - 10pm*
Discount is good on all used product: CDs, DVDs, Vinyl, and Blu-Ray.
New Vinyl will be discounted but I haven't decided what amount yet; at least 10%.
*Note that on the final day, I'm considering restricting entry to the store at 8:30 or 9:00 pm. Last year we wanted to close at 4pm on New Year's Eve and staff didn't get out until 7pm or some such nonsense. If it's crazy busy, we'll lock the doors an hour before closing and post someone to let people out. Please come early!
ALSO note that this year we are CLOSED the entire day of December 31st, New Year's Eve. This is the first time we've ever done that so I bolded it.
Every year people ask me if I expect a line. Yes. We expect a line before we open on the first day and we expect lines at the cash during the majority of the sale. Our boxing week sale is the only sale we have at the same time every year and many people drive into the city just to shop it. (All our other sales have flexible dates that we choose at whim. If you want to know when they are--or you want a reminder about this sale--join our General Mailing List.)
Also, I hate that I have to do this but having learned from past years:
- No, you cannot sample merchandise during the sale. It's simply too busy.
- No holds.
- Please, do NOT bring us your stuff to buy. It's simply too busy.
- If you're buying an insane amount of product, we may bag it and ask you to come back later (perhaps after the sale) so that the line doesn't stall while we process your order. If we have to do this, you will get the discount of the day during which you are shopping, not the day you're picking up. Note that this "later pick up" decision will be the staff's call, not the customer's, so please don't hand us CDs and say you'll be back tomorrow--we'll just put them back on the floor and sell them to someone else.
- Please, please, please be civil to the staff and your fellow shoppers.
